A baby ferrets who was being ferretted on a backyard patio is making a good recovery after being found by a woman.
The woman reported the ferret, named Kiko, to Animal Control in a video on her Facebook page.
The video showed Kiko and her mother, who has a history of mental health issues, running on the patio in the wee hours of Saturday, April 6.
Kiko, who is a black ferret with a white tabby cat on her back, was being used as a bait to lure rabbits into her den.
She was in the area when she was found by the woman, who called Animal Control, according to the video.
Animal Control has since called Kiko a miracle worker.
She has a life-saving heartworm treatment that she is able to take daily, and is expected to make a full recovery, the video said.
“We want to extend our deepest thanks to Kiko for saving the lives of other animals,” said Officer Daniel T. Smith of Animal Control.
“She was very cooperative with us and we appreciate her being here.”
Animal Control said Kiko is on her way to a veterinarian for a checkup.
