Baby cat hair, cat hair products, cat shampoo and cat hair combing are all baby cat products, according to a brand new research by a New Zealand consumer advocacy group.
The research was commissioned by The Petcare Group, a company which has over 500 stores across New Zealand.
The study found baby cat hair is more expensive than other baby cat shampoo options, which range from $1.80 to $6.80 per ounce.
Baby cat hair shampoo costs $4.80 for a 12-ounce bottle, while the same product costs $5.50 for a 24-ounce tub.
Baby swing and cat combing costs $8.80 and $10.50, respectively, and can be purchased at a range of pet shops and supermarkets.
In total, the group found the cheapest baby cat product was $1,878 per bottle.
The Petcare report said baby cat combings were generally priced at $7.50 to $9.00 per pound, while baby swing and swing-like products were priced at between $6 and $9 per pound.
Petcare said it was looking at the market and finding the best brands for its customers, with a focus on baby cat grooming.
“We’re not just interested in baby cat haircuts,” Petcare marketing manager, Krista, said.
“It’s really important for us to offer people a range, not just one product that they can get, but also to help customers decide between the products.”
Krista said Petcare was also working with its partner, the Cats Food Alliance, to develop the brands, and was hoping to roll them out nationwide by the end of 2019.
“I think that this will really open the door to other brands that we haven’t really looked at before,” she said.
